These are
the premium Bosch Blue Coil. They are epoxy filled, have an
internal 3 ohm resistor, and are hotter than the stock coil. This
is the coil to run whether you are using points or an
aftermarket pointless ignition (like a Pertronix or Compufire)
which require a 3 ohm coil.
Originally mounted facing downwards, but can be
mounted at any angle in a custom app. |

Be aware that Bosch makes different versions of this same
coil - this is the best blue coil they make. The cheap versions,
which usually sell for about $15, are also blue but with
printing on them instead of stickers. These cheaper coils are
not epoxy filled and do not come with the clamp. They are
inferior to the good coil and are about the same quality as
coils found at Autozone, etc. |
